Keyword Stuffing

Keyword stuffing is when a webmaster or ill-advised SEO has overused certain words or phrases on a website or page in an attempt to get it to rank higher in search engine results pages when users search for those keywords. This is often done throughout the content or perhaps in a useless block of text at the bottom of a page or in the footer throughout the site. Keyword stuffing can also refer to the overuse of targeted search terms in the title element of a page, the keywords meta tag, image alt tags, or even in the site’s navigation.

Overusing desirable key phrases isn’t just for spam websites, however. It is all too easy to get a little too obsessed with “money keywords” and add them where they don’t belong.
