Keywords
“Keywords”, or “search terms”, are the phrases people type into the search engine to find what they are looking for. By researching what keywords are searched the most, and more granular details like which search terms tend to bring visitors to the website who are more likely to “convert” to a lead, sale, signup or take some other desirable action; we can find ways to increase the visibility of a website in the search engines so that it will get more of the type of visitors we want. However, the best SEO is not just about keywords.
While simple, 1-3 word keyword searches and the SEO tactics that target them are becoming a thing of the past, researching user behavior to determine the words people actually use when using search engines to find a product or service can reveal great opportunities to reach more people.
